Broke T- Bolt heads off torquing to manufacturer specs

I got an array and mid end clamps I got I torque them two of them to the specs and the T bolt snapped off. Could just be a fluke with that particular Bolt but I was wondering if I eased up on it and I put Loctite, is not the principle of Torquing this so it has enough tension that the nuts don’t wiggle loose. Loctite that’s appropriate for my torque range. I should be able to loosen it enough to not worry about Bolt snapping.

Yeah, yeah I know you’re supposed to torque to the manufacturer specs

I don't know anything about the grade, thread, size, etc. of what you are using, but you can look up max torque by fastener. I think you can find all that info online now. Do the torque specs that you were given make sense for the fastener?
 
I’ll have to look I would assume manufacture would be correct since I am suppose to follow them—- I got a video showing me torquing incase something latter happens—-
 
Yeah I was just asking because SS has a tendency to thread galling. Especially if the same alloy is used for both bolt and nut.

You can minimize that quite a bit by using a nut and bolt of different alloys like 304 nut and 316 bolt. And fine threads seem to gall up the worst during disassembly for repairs or whatever.

That doesn't seem to be what happened in your case being they didn't seize.


1/4 inch bolt? What torque numbers did they give you?
