So I know this but doubting myself for some reason.

Light fixture with an EM battery pack on a normal circuit would need a 12/3 MC cable? Unswitched Hot, Neutral and switch leg?

Light fixture WITHOUT EM battery pack on a normal circuit would need a 12/2 MC cable? Neutral and switch leg?

Unless it is a 24 hour night light, then 12-2 would be fine.

Depends on how you run it. If you run to the fixture first, then you just run 12-2 to the fixture box, and a 12-2 switch leg.

If you run to the switch box first, then yes, you will need a 12-3 for the constant hot for the battery.
