250v vs 600v Disconnects

Can you use either voltage disconnect switch whether the voltage your implementing them into is 120/208 or 277/480?

You can use a higher voltage rated disconnect with a lower voltage system (i.e.-600 volt disco with 208 volts). The switch rating is the maximum voltage rating. If they're fused disconnects the fuse gaps are different.

And the 600v fuses will cost you more.

My field is industrial and mostly 600V to 11kV specials and DC. Different folks for different spokes............
