Do the make xfmr that goes from 5kv to 12/208v? Don't believe I've ever seen one before ..have seen substations......but not sure I recall going from 5kv to 120/208v.,...seen to 277/480
 
Is this a dry type transformer where the primary is 5kv? We typically install them with 4160 volt primaries. Where is the 5kv coming from?
 
Sure. I don't know if 5kv is a standard primary size. You're saying that you'll have a 5kv primary I'm curious where the 5kv is coming from. Doesn't sound like a utility voltage.
5kV is probably the voltage class. I have never seen this exact voltage.
The voltage would likely be 4160V or 4800V

Common industrial voltages are often multiples of 1.732 (the relation between connecting windings in delta or wye) .The most common I have seen have in this area have been 2400, 4160, 7200V for motors, and 12470V wye for services. Then for larger services and feeders levels like 13.2, 13.8, 24.9 and 34.5KV delta. In the Chicago area I saw some 4800V.
