Cruise ship electrical outlets amperage limitations?

Tortuga gave us the current-limiting mechanism as a bonus. Bravo for his brilliant find.
Except that specific current limiting outlet is only found in the bathroom, not in the other stateroom receptacles, which are either standard Shuko or NEMA design and are used during vacuuming by the housekeeping staff.

It would help if the OP included the cruise line and ship information

Carnival Celebration. A relatively new ship. There were a few other people on the Facebook page for the cruize who noticed the same thing. I have since seen some online comments that it may be an issue with the electronics of certain curlers and flat irons, not the ship electrical system cutting off. I'll have to remember to bring my voltmeter next time.
 
The trip my dad went on was was some years ago, and apparently it was not uncommon for North American travelers to awkwardly try to use those shaver plugs for their chargers and various devices, until somone who understood explained it, thats how I herd about it.
