1-1 SEU question

I noticed that a 150amp main panel was being fed from the meter panel with 1-1 SEU cable from Encore wiring company. According to the information on their website, 1-1 SEU cable is good for 145amps. Is this acceptable considering there are no 145amp breakers?

Forgot to mention it's CU wire. I assume since it's to the dwelling that 1-1 is good for 150amps?

Take a look at Table 310.15(B)(7) in the 2011 NEC or the 83% rule in later editions. #1 copper is good for 150 amps.

Infinity gave you the answer for your residential install, however:

FYI: That 145A is from the 90C column of Table 310.15(B)(16) (formerly Table 310.16). That ampacity could be used for derating and correction factors, but the final ampacity would be limited to 130A, the 75C column, because of the terminal limitations of 110.14(C). Under certain conditions possibly the 60C column.

So if this were commercial you could still use a 150A breaker, because of 240.4(B), but the calculated load could not exceed 130A.
