#10 derating ground

Someone told me that you could not derate #10 ground. Can you derate #10 ground from #10 to #12?? Please give the code reference for this

Derate ground? equipment grounding conductor? I'm not sure how you would derate the EGC being that it is not a current carrying conductor. In accordance with 250.122, you can increase the size, but not decrease. No idea of what anyone is talking about when they use the undefined term of "ground". The understanding of Articles 200 and 250 is generally poor and terms are often used outside of how they are used in the code.

Also note table 250.122, read where it states, “ rating or setting of overcurrent device in circuit ahead of equipment, conduit, etc. (not exceeding amperes)”
