Does anybody know if Power Circuit Breakers and the associated Switchgear assembly are by default rated for 100% operation? Thanks in advance!

IIRC, ICCB and power CBs are 100% rated typically, while MCCB ar usually, but not always 80% rated.

But that might vary by manufacturer.
I agree.
The replacements for ANSI rated switchgear are 100%. But most manufacturers also offer a similar switchboard construction which is 80%.

Typically but not always? I assume this would be in the listing of the product?
To mix things up a bit, how would one go about determining if AKD-5 switchgear installed in the early 70's is 100% rated or not?

Check the ANSI specification it was built to.

If you know it was ANSI gear then it was 100% rated.
If it has a UL (81?) label then it was 80%.
Thanks. AKD-5 switchgear doesn't have a nameplate or label to indicate anything other than the Requisition and Summary No. This gear was manufactured from 1960 to 1977. How would I go about checking if it is ANSI gear or listed equipment?
