Can you pass 1080p with RGB's?
I believe the video bandwidth of R/G/B or DVI or the video portion of HDMI are all the same.

Yep, and with component video, too. I use a transcoder to convert component video to RGB-HV for my CRT projector. I don't have any digital-video cabling in my system. Can you pass 1080p with RGB's?

In my experience, there is no 1080p over component (RGB or the other standard). There is 1080i. As I understand that, the copyright folks "require" that handshaking be used with 1080p limiting it to DVI and HDMI.I agree. However, Do most sources output 1080 from RGB's. Or are they limited to 720?

There were a few upscaling DVD players which would output 1080p on the component connection, but I believe those were quickly discontinued.
The Zenith DVB-318 player, for example, as long as you have (or restore) the original firmware, which shows an LG logo on start-up.There were a few upscaling DVD players which would output 1080p on the component connection, but I believe those were quickly discontinued.
Still, the receiving equipment has to be able to process the analog 1080P component signal. The Zenith DVB-318 player, for example, as long as you have (or restore) the original firmware, which shows an LG logo on start-up.
I just happen to have three of them, as well as a CD with thr firmware flash needed to restore the original firmware if it's been updated.
I'm sure my projector will.Still, the receiving equipment has to be able to process the analog 1080P component signal.
I notice the difference between HDMI and component cables when coming out of a set top box that delivers high def HDMI is a better picture for me
