Sloppy does kill.

I strongly disagree.

If there is something unsafe there will likely be other violations of the NEC.

I can't believe I' m seeing people on this forum defending slopppy workmanship.

I am not, and I do not think anyone is defending poor workmanship.

What I am saying is that poor workmanship is not an issue for the NEC, it is an issue for the person paying the bill.

The term "hacks" certainly comes to mind.

If that what you want to believe so be it.

I think 312.4 is the most important section in the book. I hate it when some clown puts a panel, say, 3/16" into the wall.

Please give an example of a dangerous "sloppy" installation that does not violate any other NEC rules.

That is too funny. I wonder if I've ever seen one of these "conduit loops" and didn't realize it...
Are quite common in commercial work it gives you an alternate path to feed a location when a pipe is lost in a pour. You can feed from both directions if one section is missing.

If 110.12 were enforced 75% of the EC's wouldn't be in business.

That is your view point, and you are of course entitled to it.

But it is not fact, it is only opinion, another person would say 99% another person would say 50% and of course some would say 1%.

We can not define 'neat and workman like' sure we can try but it will always fail at some point.

Not to beat a dead horse ,but beauty is in the eye of the beholder , what is art to some is elephant crap on the Holy mother to others (Robert Mapplethorpe) Who decides ... A cartoon like my avatar,.(it was a rather stern looking smiley guy beating a dead horse,..I have since changed it back to my hero) is highly offensive to some and to others it symbolizes how a subject ,much like this one , gets discucssed to beyond death . When something is neat and workman like,.. I can recognize it ,.Just like I know when I see pornography ,.. but you do not see through my eyes,... so who's eyes we gonna use ...
