110.26C-meter center over 6'/1200amp main

The County reviewer is requiring doubled clearance for a meter center which is not 1200a. Only the main is 1200a. Does the code require the 6' distance for meter stacks???? I do not have room for the 2nd door at all.

Is it me? I provided the distance for the main but he is also rejecting my clear path exception.

You really lost me, you say the main is 1,200 amps but you still feel 110.26(C)(2) does not apply. :-?

Exactly what equipment 1200 amps or over would trigger the requirement if not the main switch?

Fairfax County Virginia just updated to 2005. They are one heyell of a jurisdiction by the way.
