Mike,
Here is my question.
I need to install a basic outdoor on/off light switch for a pool light, but I'm not sure where in the line to put it.
I have 115v running from the circuit panel to the transformer, and then there is 12v running from the transformer to the pool light.
Do I install the on/off switch between the panel and transformer, or between the transformer and pool light?
I'm not sure if the switch will work on 12v current.
Thanks for you help!
Dan

* This NEC? Forum is for those in the electrical and related industries.
Questions of a "How-To" nature by persons not involved in the electrical industry will be removed without notice.
Mg man, water and electricity do not mix. Pool lights, regardless of voltage, can be very dangerous if mis-installed. Details in your question indicate to me that you are not experienced with this kind of work, and you have already done something wrong. It would be to your benefit to seek experienced help in your project.

But if you are planning on doing the installation work yourself, then the Forum rules prohibit us from giving you any help. The reason for that policy is that we are concerned that you may get only the answer to the question that you ask, and get no answer to the thousand other questions that you should have asked, but did not know that you needed to ask. The thousand of other questions are the ones that electricians, electrical engineers, and other professionals in the electrical industry would have known about, and would have understood the answers to, as part of their years of training.
