How much would you charge for connect a manual transfer switch, and Outdoor receptacle, for generator 7500watts. My price was $300. only for labor. Is it too much?. There was good parking and job went smooth.

"3 hours @ 75= 225
Material 56 @ 30% M U = 72
Permit @ 125 = 125"
______________________________________________________________

3 Hours plus travel time, so lets make it 4 hours.

$75 is just a little more then what it costs me per hour, so lets add a little in there for profit.

4 hours @ 90 = 360
Material 56 @ 100% MU = 112
Permit @125

Total amount $597

Or tell the customer the job is $472 and the permit paid to the city is $125, so they understand the $125 is not your money.

Profit too much?

Profit too much?

I only wish that I could charge close to your rates. Here, along our southern border in Yuma, Arizona, we have to compete with people in the Super Shopper/Lowball Licensed Contractors who will charge $35-45.00 an hour for labor. They pay their Journeymen(?) $10-12.00 an hour, and it kills me that the automechanics at Pep Boys can charge $75.00 an hour and I can't get $55.00

Wow!
So relocate to Phoenix?
Anyway put it into persperspective. PepBoys diagnostic machine cost $30,000. the vehicle emmision machine cost $10K. Hydraulic lifts? Guess how much? Paper work for EPA oil & such. I think you have it better & make a better margin with less risk.
