I decided to go with the elbow. I dont like how it sticks off the wall but its not bad. It;s why I couldn't put a strap lower. I did notch a little but didnt want to do too much into the Rim Joist.

Extra piece of Schedule 80 would it look bad if I just did this?

old BX but funny story about that box. It was a splice box that powered an old small panel in the basement. That bx you see ran into another box shown here and look what they had powering it all. SMH

I have always wished that there was some type of product available similar to a hat-channel that we could simply install over a cable that is running on a wall or ceiling and we need to add a little more protection to it.

Recently I had a long cable run through a split level house which I had to run it through a closet from the ceiling down through the floor. In this situation I was able to put it in the corner and cover it with a piece of crown molding.
