Nice looking panel! Don't expect to always have the time to do it quite so nice though : ) At least you know you want to.

Nice job! Is it standard for Canadian panels to have separate trim covers over the main CB section of the panel? If so are you not permitted to enter the top of the panel with the branch circuits?

Yes the barried section is for service entrance cables only, no branch circuits allowed. I am guessing the nec allows this since I am seeing trailers and relocateable structures manufactured in the U.S. with dual feed furnace conductors running out the service entrance portion, and yes a dual feed furnace is another CEC violation.

Can you flip the panels upside down in canada? I just ask because I do everything I possibly can to stay away from coming in the side but with the compartment on top there it looks like the only option.

Yeah, flipping the Panel is allowed and sometimes advised. IE... having service entry conductors as close as practicable when entring a building.

So if I understand this correctly, the only way you can use these panels in a studded wall is by flipping them upside down (bottom feed), right? It almost seems strange to make the enclosure 14.5" wide at that point, since you're not limited to any width and a horizontal bus would make a lot more sense so you can keep your lines coming in on the top (outside of the SE area) as well as for heat dispersion.
