Why would you be running triplex?

Triplex can be aluminum or copper, triplex is the stuff the power company runs from the pole to the home.

For your work you want aluminum SE or aluminum XHHW in PVC.

Everyone around here calls it triplex. Three blacks one with a yellow strip down the entire side of the conductor. But yes I am doing aluminum and I am having the biggest brain fart right now I keep thinking 2/3 but ahh I am in doubt haha:-?

If all the conductors are covered, I call it URD. Is what you want to put in sunlight (UV) resistant?
 
the answer is YES. in table 310.15 (b) (6) #2 aluminum triplex is ok for residential service conductors for a 100 amp service.
