I got 2 circuits (from seperate panels) feeding a flourescent light that has a normal and emergency ballast. How would this be wired? Would the normal circuit w/neutral be wired to the normal ballast, and the emergency circuit w/neutral be wired to the emergency ballast. I am a little confused. Could someone explain this to me?

Not every emergency type ballast can be wired from two different sources. Some must be on the same circuit as the normal ballast.

Thanks guys. Rob, thats where the confusion comes into play because if I recall the 2 ballasts were factory wired together. Would I have to rewire the light to isolate both ballasts from one another, and if this is done I believe I will be voiding the warranty on this fixture, correct? By the way, it's a 4' strip fixture (2 lamp).

One power source is the norm. Most E ballasts operate throught the regular ballast and remain charged through it - two sources from an opposite phase could be catostrophic - if just plain ol' not work right IMO.

Gonna have to read them destructions it came with....

I think there is some confussion here, are you dealing with a ballast/battery type of fixture or a plain jane dual ballast fixture?
