under 100 amps = 60 deg C columb
table says #8 is good to 40 amps.
#6 is good to 55 amps.

Yes the standard range receptacle is 50 amps but the draw isn`t close to 50 more in the low 30`s so why #6?Look at a atandard 24 in range,Cooking elements @2200 and 1200 8 and 6 in baking element @2400 and broiler @2750,The math says 35.625 amps so # 8 40 amp ocpd.Why waste $$$ on oversized wire ???

Most receptacles are rated for 75 degrees. It's the fact that you're using NM cable that it has a 60 degree limitation. You could use #8 MC cable and put it on a 50 amp CB. At 75 degrees #8 Cu is rated for 50 amps.

It is in 110.14(C)(1)

But it only applies if the equipment is not listed and marked otherwise.

It's Pass & Seymour that make the same size receps for all their 30 & 50 amp 3 wire & 4 wire. They're all the small size, like the old 3 wire ones.
