3". 225' is not to long of a run for pvc 90s although if you ever burn through one you will wish you had paid for the rigid or resin 90. Plan your pull and put just one steel 90 in.

The local power company pulls with a steel cable from a truck mounted winch, I don't care how much lube you put on it, you can rip the side out of a plastic 90
Part of the reason for the cutting action is the heat produced by the friction. A lot of the heat is carried away from the conduit by the steel cable because of its higher thermal mass. Also I would expect that the coefficient of friction between the steel cable and the conduit is less than between rope or string and the steel cable.For some reason the steel cable does not cut like the pull string or a nylon rope.
