2 Services, 1 Bldg, 1 GES

60 yr old tool twisting electrician
I have 2 services on this building. A 1/0 CEE is present under both. My plan is to take the 1/0 from the footer, hit a rod then hit the neutral buss. I would do this at each service.

Now if I install a 2nd DB clamp at each rod and run a 1/0 between them, I feel I would comply with 250.53(B), 250.58, 250.70.

Any body see any problems? Besides no hard hats.

How is it so that you have a 2nd service to a dwelling type structure on the same property...and they look very close to each other physically?


Is it really 2 different services, or is it one service? Basing my question on the definition(s) in Article 100 and 230.2.

Most of my services either burn up or blow up, so I install spares.

Why not put one disconnect and install the 8 - 10 meters (not sure how many there are) off of the one disconnect?

I am only curious, not complaining. Our POCO would not permit this on a building of the size you show in the picture.

I don't pickem, I just stickem. Poor design? IMO yes.

This building is much bigger than my picture would lead you to believe. Its in a U shape, 10 residential units and a staff center. 11 meters shown.

Also thanks for the compliment Pierre, but I didn't twist tools on this one.(I did the slab and staff center) Your looking at the survivors of our once large resi crew. They have done an outstanding job on this project.
 
I did not think this was a poor design. Remember that most of us who post here are used to seeing work installed as per our areas. Once we see something that is different, the bells & whistles go off. That does not in itself make your work or job a bad job, it stimulates discussion.

I for one can easily understand that most pictures do not always show what is there to see.

Sorry to hear about the slow down, I do not know too many who are not directly affected by this economic slowdown we are experiencing.
 
I think I see your question. The enclosures next to the meter stacks have no mains. Just POCO terminating to the busses. This picture is not much better, but the can the gentleman in the foreground has his hands in is the enclosure I describe.
