I have a project that requires 50 electrical outlets. My equipment that is used is pulling 100 amps. I only have a 20 amp service available.
how many circuits will I need to run to pass code?

Let's start with some questions:

>what is the ampacity of each piece of equipment?
>how many pieces of equipment do you have?
>is it fastened in place?
>what it the equipment voltage?
>what is the system voltage in the building?

Welcome to the forum.

hopefully you mean a 200 amp service.
The number of circuits will depend on how the 100 amp load is divided.
Normally you would have 13 outlets per 20 amp circuit, but that would only give you about 1-1/2 amp per recepatcle if the load is evenly divided.
continuous loads or motor loads could also change the situation.
more specific data is needed

Would I be correct if I pressumed this is a commercial installation? Either way, good luck with driving 50 recepticles with 20 amps. It's not enough current.

Edit: Maybe you should look at Article 220, not that you necessarily have to but it might be enlightening.
