FWIW as others have said, 200A is a LOT of power for a house.

Own house is 5300 sq feet. 2ea 5T heat pumps, all electric kitchen and WH (no pool), 2 electric clothes dryers

I have TRIED to trip the 200 A main breaker, never have done so. :eek:hmy:

Best try loads for 15 minutes or so - the heat pump shuts off typically within 15 minutes:

Wife using 10 HP pressure washer, 48A (e.g per Fluke clamp on meter)
I'm out back welding @ 50A ac draw - note - have tripped the 50A breaker after over 1 hr welding with 320A welder.
Heat pump running at 25 A
WH running at 22A
38 A both clothes dryers running plus washer and
Double oven on 18A - probably cycling though
Boiling a couple pots of water on induction stove top, 22 A
Water pump on well running 12A
Had a couple of 5 HP air compressors turned on also, but those turn off within a few minutes.

235A, main breaker still not tripping (QO) Current at RH side of SQ D trip curve, probably need to run for a few hours on a hot day to trip ?

Have not tried turning on the 2nd stove and oven in the basement at the same time or connecting the other welder in the 2nd shop ....:?

Im working on this 5100sq ft home past few weeks. 5BR, 5 Bth. I grabbed the amp draw from both 125A sub Panel and the 200Amp service panel.

Under normal conditions they dont draw more than 50-60amps total (with central AC on).

With everything on (except vacuum, hairdryers, space heaters, treadmill, microwave, couple other things) they were pulling 165amps.

Odds that every single thing will be on at same time are slim but I feel they'll need an upgrade in the future.
