Hi all-

I have a 200 amp main breaker, but it has 150 amp fuses inside (see attached pictures).

Is it safe to assume that the existing wiring is safe for 200 amps and that it'd be straightforward for an electrician to change out the 150 amp fuses with 200 amp fuses?

Thanks.

No it is not safe to assume that, it is much more likely that the conductors are NOT rated 200 amps and that is why 150 fuses where installed.

You need to hire an electrician to evaluate it if you want to increase the fuse size.

But why? Are you adding load? If the 150s have been working this long there is no advantage to increasing them.

All that said.
