I am finally getting around to ordering the 2008 NEC, however, I was wondering about other products that some of you have purchased and recommend. As I am typing this, I am reminded of a discussion that came up between me and Jerry, Jerry was questioning the fact that the MC Cable on the project I was managing did not have the red bushings in them and I told him that they were not required by the NEC and then he told me that while the NEC did'nt require them, the UL White Book did require them.

I just read through catagory PJAZ and PJOX in the UL white book which cover metal clad cable and metal clad cable fittings respectively. I did not read anything in either section that required the use of anti-short busings with MC cable.

Agreed for MC the reason is the design of the connectors, insulated throat or not....However, it must be a listed connector for MC. No anti short bushings required.

I agree, listed connector.

I would get the Analysis of Changes book too, it you can. I always find it helpful with finding out what the changes are and getting a simple explination of them.

I like the electronic version of the NEC.
Mike Holts Illustrarted Code Changes is worth while, better yet get the DVD to review.

I also like the electronic version of the NEC. As an instructor it is invaluable to be able to put the code up on the screen.

I also have the NEC handbook on CD as well as a hardbound copy.
