In the latest 2025 NYC energy code lighting section C405.2.3, lists dimming control requirements for different space types. Even though spaces like storage rooms or bathrooms are not listed here, number 11 states that, " Spaces not provided with occupant sensor controls complying with Section C405.2.1.1." will require dimming controls. Wanted to get other professional opinion on interpretating this for a boiler room or an electrical room where we typically wouldnt implement occupancy controls due to occupant safety would now require manual dimming? Is there an exemption that i am not seeing? Just wondering how this would impact retrofit projects. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
