As you mentioned ronaldrc, on the middle leg, then every third one. I should mention that now I check voltage and polarity of EVERY outlet I install before allowing anyone to use the outlet.

Are you sure the hi leg on the 120/240 volt delta was 208. It's 240 in my area.

Sparky59, it can not be anything else than a nominal 208 volts. We are not talking about a corner grounded delta but a 120/240 volt, three phase, 4 wire system where the center point of one phase is grounded. In this system, the voltage from the grounded conductor to the higher phase to ground is a nominal 208 volts.

The first sketch might help illustrate the system Charlie is referring to.

By the way, where I live, we are required to install separate panels when the supply is 4-wire delta.(bottom sketch)
