I can appreciate the fact that Article 220 is for calculating purposes but feeders, services and distribution equipment are sized from it inferring its use as application as well.

210.11 seems to mix/tie directly to Article 220, how does 210.11 really apply?

It also infers that part IV. Optional Feeder and Service Load Calculations, can

be used if the ampacity is 100amps or greater. This application allows a 40%

reduction in most dwelling loads, after the first 10kva @ 100%. IMO, Article

220 is for "Calculations" just as the title states. :)

See 230.23(A) service conductor ampacity, & 215.2(A)(1) feeder conductor ampacity, & 225.5 outside branch circuits and feeders, & 408.30 panelboard ampacity. In all these examples are statements that Article 220 shall be used to calculate the amperage and size the particular item. In other words Article 220 is integrally use to determine the conductor and equipment sizes, it is Article 220 the qualifies these items to be applied.

I am confused. Is this intended to be a reply to some other thread? It seems out of context by itself. Do you want me to move all three posts from this thread to some other thread, so that it makes more sense in context?

Just offering a service. :D

Belay my last transmission.

I found the earlier thread, and therein the OP stated that he would start a new thread to discuss this question.

Carry on.
