The branch circuit tap conductors as per 210.19(A)(3)ex. are not really restricted by length such as in 240.21(B). If one is to run a 50 amp protected set of conductors to a junction box under the cabinet, and from that junction box run a set of 8 AWG to the wall oven,with another set of 10 AWG to a 30 amp cooktop, he would be able to. Either set of conductors leaving the junction box are permitted to extend to a location in the kitchen where the two different appliances are located. In this example, wall oven located against the wall, and the cooktop at the island. I do not see a problem with this installation. Maybe the size of the junction box...
