See E4.1 pdf attachment below for reference to this issue.

I am trying to save on outlets that I believe are not usable in an apartment complex project and yet comply with 210.52.

Look at the closet bedroom with sliding doors. The question, can I justify not having an outlet in the wall to the right (labeled questionable outlet) The use could only be justified when the door is closed but it could be a hazardous case if the door in the right swing and obstruct the use of the outlet? anyone with similar experience and good justification?

Thanks,

This happens all the time. But you still need a recep there whether it will get used or not. It's still 2 foot of wall space....210.52(A)(2)(1)

You must install a receptacle there.

In my experience this receptacle will actually get used because it has a door in front of it. Try plugging a vacuum in to the receptacle behind the bed.

In my area it would not be required. (State ammendment to the NEC). But IMHO it is required per 210.52(A)(2)
