I believe the NEC is specific referring to the type of devices needed to be backed by GFCI protection in non-dwelling kitchens. However, if the appliance was direct wired through a fused or non-fused disconnect switch, would the GFCI requirement be lifted? The definition for a 'receptacle' appears to be for the 'mating' of devices. Some discussion would help to provide options for these applications. Thank you.
