Hello,
We are installing a 45kva generator with a 225amp main breaker. What size of wire done need from the Generator to the transferswitch? Am I ok with 3/0 or do we need to jump up to 4/0?
Next question is the generator and transferswitch are in separate rooms. Do we need to install a disconnect between the generator and transferswitch?
Kinda dumb questions, but thanks!
 
If you are installing a generator and asking these questions, you should get an electrical contractor to assist. It will save you a lot of issues on your electrical inspection. There are also other aspects such as signage, SDS bonding etc.
