Right on the coast we have basically zero rock. It’s sandy clay.

Go 30 miles inland and it’s basically a quarry. Out there it’s all conduit

Where I am a majority of underground still goes in raceway for rodent protection reasons.

Out on farms some won't bury less than 1" for nonmetallic raceway, some critters still will damage smaller sizes. Can't say I've seen it but have heard those claims.
