Hi guys,

I'm wiring up 8 240v 20 amp receptacle in a commercial juice bar in the mall and wonder if I need to provide gfci protection. This juice bar sells only juice, tea, and coffee, no cooking equipment's. Does it meet the commercial kitchen definition? These outlets are for blenders, coffer machine and tea urn and they will be serving the counter space. Does the counter space only apply to dwelling unit? Thanks in advance.

IMO if it does not met the definition of a kitchen (there is no commercial kitchen definition- it is the same) then no gfci is needed unless there is a sink. You would need it within 6' of a sink.

Kitchen. An area with a sink and permanent provisions for
food preparation and cooking
