For those of you under 2008 how are you handling 250.94? Are you mounting a bar on the side of the can, mounting it on the structure?

With one of these

We now have to do the cable and phone guys job as they could not do it decently themselves. :D

Ah, ok. I see that picture relates to a ground wire not in pipe. In my case all mine are in EMT until terminated at the ground clamp. Once we adopt 2008, how would I achieve this to satisfy code?

Who's in your circle of friends, in Raleigh ?

When does the Board Speak ?

This was back in the Summer and I frankly recall it being on hold till 1.09 .

I went into a city counter and noted a display and paper work stating that this device was under review by the State, as to aspects of this being code compliant.

It in fact could be attached as you described to smaller panels. The device telescoped with a lug on it for low voltage grounding that a was to be affixed to the outside.

It was built and labeled from a major manufacture!

I know what you mean....... found this on the panel of one of my jobs.

I can't believe that those things are designed to go on the cover. So you need to remove the entire apparatus or the ground wire to open the panel. And this is a listed device? There must be a better way.

Makes me wonder how they would have cobbled it together if it was a flush panel!

Gee you don't think that thing on the cover with the screws on loose over paint as a "low impedance path"? :D

we have had a lot of problems with people cutting ground wires at the house and them at the ground rod so we now run the gec down the inside then out thrue the foundation underground so they wouldn't be cut ...so how sre we going to accomidate this code

Put a small loop up out of the ground just enough for the lug, then back below grade.

I dont know anymore:confused:. There were several things on hold. What I remember being on hold was the se cable issue, listed outdoor recp.and tamper proof recpts. I know the new afci rule will come in Jan. 1 but I am not sure where the others stand. I was not aware of the interconnection being on hold.

As far as connecting to the meter base in this area the customer owns the base not the poco.
