looking for an incandescent medium base light bulb that has a longer life of 1000hrs.

Dan are you sure the lamp is 277 volt A19 100 watt?
The reason I ask is that appears as if it would be a violation of 210.6(C).
Most 277 volt incandescent bulbs are A21 that I've seen ...A19 and 100 watt
what happens when the janitor replaces the burned out lamp with a 120 volt one?
It burns out.
i dont think using 277 volt incandecants is a good idea unless the socket will only accept a 277 volt lamp.
That's why we have 210.6 (C)
thats correct but what about the lamps on the page that was posted before

The NEC does not apply to mines so that would make sense why they make these.
i never worked in a mine and i never known that the nec didnt apply there.
