And table 348.22 is more liberal in it's conductor fill and makes allowances for different connector types. It also allows you to install a single EGC within the FMC after you have already filled the conduit.

Well, if it's really MC, then it's up to the manufacturer. The most I've used is 12/4, with black, red, blue, white, and green #12's.

Err... ditto!

MC is made at a factory. If they somehow manage to jam 20 conductors in a 3/8" package, and it has a UL label on it, I really don't care.

we dont use mc at all here we do use flex for whips and such but its a whole different product. just try to use a 3/8 flex connector on 3/8 mc. it wont grab hold. the flex is just a little bigger.

I've had no problems with any 3/8" connector gripping 12/2 MC. I've used snap-ons, two-screw clamps, angled single-screw ones, the saddle ones, etc.

I do pay attention to the ends of the spiral, and make sure the end with the outside wrap is in the connector likely to have more stress on it.
