2. Code Quiz questions
3. Invaluable general insight from members and moderators

Read back through the post the every one's number 3 seems to be their best, But Bob aka Iwire's is tops. About number of post to solve something simple or something that is a personal practice.

1. I am not as dumb as I thought I was.
2. I am dumber than I thought I was.
3. I have a lot to learn and wish I was as up to the NEC as some of the members.

2. Realize I'm not always right and there are those that can't be proven wrong even with a dictionary because they will tell you that the dictionary is wrong.

I decided on the outset of this thread that I would not reply . . . well, I lied to myself.
  1. Even in my area of expertise, I don't know as much as I thought I did
  2. Outside my area of expertise, I know more that I thought I did
  3. I have learned to eat a lot of crow. Not too bad if seasoned with humility.

1) electricians can be V E R Y nit-picky

2) there are L O T S of "urban legends" out there about our trade

3) NEVER ring Iwire's door bell uninvited to drop off a business card.. ( from a thread a few months back about seeing a hazard and if EC should inform HO about his electrical service

1. That my reflection (6-7) is more of a deflection is just that, but more equal to a deviation (c) on my part as to it being anything near a complete thought or even a correct implied process on my part in respects to the correct answer!

2. I follow every article listed against an OP's statement!

3. That no one talks about much that I say based on #1...

LOL!

I know Mule likes these kind of postings. I would say, my top 3 are:

1. none of us know everything. all of us together do.

2. if one of us thinks they know everything, 308 of us will debate the matter
till charlie bleeds from the eyeballs, and closes the topic.

3. there are electricians out there even more arrogant and opinionated than
i am.... not alot, but some.

3a. mule likes these kinds of postings.

3b. there are only 2 ways to put on a locknut, and 179 opinions about which
way is correct.

Cadpoint,

That #1 sounds like an obfuscated statement of "Humility".
That #2 supports #1.
That #3 refers back to #1.

A lesson to be well learned by all electricians.
