3 phase breaker in single phase panel

I started this thread a long time ago, cant beleive its still on here :)

Anyway, I just wanted to comment on the picture last posted with the smaller wire size on the 3rd fuse. Thats the same arrangement I have here, except my panel isn't 3 phase obviously

That's a typical high-leg service switch, all right. Large 120/240v, 1ph load, small 240v, 3ph load.

If you look closely at the panel description at the top, you can see that this is a single
phase panel with main lugs. The breaker you are looking at is a main breaker that I've seen
on older ITE panels. So I dont think you have single phase here. All you have to do to
confirm this is open the cover and look at the bus
