I think development more towards fiber optic cable data transfer.
OK. Whatever. But think back to the change in the charge distribution.

If the charge at a certain location is dependent on a wave to pass by to get updated information on how to re-align, then for circuits with fast re-alignment characteristics the wave speed, and speed of subsequent information-updating waves, becomes a significant portion of the time it takes the circuit charge to reach equilibrium.

Take a computer with superconductivity as an extreme case. It would processes information at much faster rate than an ordinary computer. How charges relocation, equilibrium etc., relate in it ?

Most, perhaps all, semiconductors I've come across are not rated to operate below -40C.

Forget the superconductor and just consider that the faster the circuit can settle the charge for each information wave the more the wave speed becomes a significant portion of the settling time.
