Doctor electric is just a name. I have been in the field residential commercially almost 5 years however

my profile does not state I'm a master electrician that's why I've consulted all my available electricians just to make sure I'm getting it right wouldn't you rather see that than someone to just hack it in nope not me

How do you create a new thread ? Lol can't seem to find it
Go to top of this or any other page and click on the "forum" button. Go to the forum that best suits the topic and near top right of the thread listings will be drop down menu titled "forum tools". From there you will be able to start a new thread.

There may be other ways but this will work.

It's perhaps only in the modern US & Canada where large homes or small offices expect 100kVA of capacity and expects to only pay for kWh.

Normal every day type common sense takes form for large industrial users but they're completely ignored by residential and small business users. Unless they're thinking about their generator system or solar photovoltaic. They they understand demand, infrastructure cost and wants maximum utilization factor for their generation asset.

Type DT-3 115 °C Rise NEMA TP-1 Efficient
112.5kVA, they're listing 440W standby power. Different models in same size showing anywhere from 250 to 500W standby use. This is the current list but perhaps older ones are less efficient. That's 320kWh/month fixed power consumption just to keep the transformer energized. An amount that no amount of LED silliness will ever recoup in a home or small office complex. There's also the purchase cost of the transformer, and the space and required work space around it that prevents it from being used for other purpose

During cooling season that is a loss, during heating season it is a reduction in necessary heating load and not a complete loss.
