3 phase wye for greenhouse backup

New here and to farming but ive have been reading a bunch of threads so I can better explain to local guys what I need.


Im expanding a farm to include greenhouse operations and need new service and backup system. I have a few 3 phase military gens here already.


One of the local guys was trying to explain using the 3 phase generator w/ wye as 120 and balance loads. don’t think utility offer’s 3 phase in area but have a call in for a consult.


Is there a way to hookup a 3 phase backup system to a 120/240 from national grid? Don’t think I need a true 240 and could get gen that went to 220 and just expect to really use 120.
