3 way switch to well pump

Home owners want a 3 way switch at their most commonly used exit door to turn off their well pump. They apparently had a bad experience in the past, and are pretty set on it. My regular guy is busy, and the electrician I have on the job says he doesn't think that is a good idea? It is on a double pole 15A circuit.
