30 amp circuit for disposal/dishwasher?

I was always under the impression that a shared outlet below the kitchen sink for a dishwasher and disposal was supposed to be on a 20 amp circuit.

I have seen them on 15, 20 and now 30 amp circuits.

No, they dont need to be 20, but 30 is completely out of the question if someone is installing a 15-20 amp receptacle.

Wouldn't art.422.11(G) come into play. This directs us to art. 430 part III

I won't say it can't. However, most dishwashers and disposals I've installed have a circuit breaker on/in them. Making a mess of things? Is it merely an OL or is it a OCPD.

Either way I fail to see how 422 will effect 210.21(B)(3) and I don't plan to put 30a cord-ends or receps. in for either of those devices.

I agree but I hadn't read that a 30 amp receptacle wasn't involved. I didn't think most dishwasher had CB's

I think the point was that you can't put 15 or 20 amp receptacles on a 30A circuit per 210.21(B)(3).
