When wiring a garage on residential property and feeding it from a separate feeder off of the main service panel mounted on a pole can I use this exception for the feeders or do they have to be per 310.15 table? In other words feeders to home as per 310.15(a)(6)and feeders to garage per 310.15(a)(6).

Re: 310.15(a)(6)

In answer to your question I would say no. This article is for a feeder to a dwelling unit not a garage.

I agree with Infinity.

gserve, you must have read some of the previous threads concerning this subject either here, ECN, Electricians Toolbox, or some other site you visit and ask questions at.

I am assuming that you meant Table 310.15(B)(6) in your question.

The answer you seek is that the feeders for the garage will need to be sized from table 310.16. A garage does not fit the definition of a dwelling unit.

Dwelling Unit. A single unit, providing complete and independent living facilities for one or more persons, including permanent provisions for living, sleeping, cooking, and sanitation.
