Whats the difference between table 310.15 (B) (2) (a) and 310.15 (B) (2) (b)? :?

Ok..Ok...I was going to be sarcastic but then I said....oh answer the question...lol

The first 310.15(B)(2)(a) applies to the default temperature of 30 Degrees C and that applies to the familiar Table 310.15(B)(16). The 310.15(B)(2)(b) applies to default temperatures of 40 Degrees C and also applies to all the rest of the tables except 310.15(B)(17)....if you notice the other tables beyond 310.15(B)(16) and 310.15(B)(17) have 40 Degree C ambient temps.....thats is why the two tables.

Yes, the Base ambient would be off as least in regards to table 310.16(B)(16)

The whole point in Table 310.15(B)(16) is to establish the base 30 Degree C and then use Table 310.15(B)(2)(a) to adjust accordingly.
