Yes, for our own purposes / knowledge I do look at the ROP, as far as what stands up as 'the code' only the printed words in the NEC are what matters from an enforcement standpoint.

No matter what the intent of the CMP was if the words do not support that intent it can not be enforced.

Yeah but in this exact example what the words support is the disagreement. Isn't it logical to rely on perceived intent?

You have already said "Just like the NEC requires the conductors to be the same length and they will never be 'the same'"

Since "No matter what the intent of the CMP was if the words do not support that intent it can not be enforced" you must never run parallels...

I agree, as the section is written you can not comply.

I also think the fittings must be the same in order to have the same characteristics. I would not, however, lose sleep if they weren't the same.

Thanks, that was all I was really trying to say.

It may be logical but it is not 'right' or legal and not what we are supposed to have to do.

I agree and doubt many (if any) would fail you on this.
But you have not seen the pictures yet. Notice the nice fit on the existing 45's and how I had to sweep a little wide to try for a better fit.

In order to keep with the existing raceway characteristics I've been talking with the local birds. I think they may have misunderstood my request as they have been going out of their way to do their business on my van and my self.

It stinks not being able to field bend the conduit, we do what we can and move on.

You should say "It stinks to an electrician not to be able to field bend conduit." Everybody else won't even know what they are looking at. ;)

Chris, Don't forget to stuff some birdnest type stuff between your pipes so

they will have the same characteristics. It's the law!! :)

I was planning on cleaning the whole mess up, but Bob's link has me thinking.

How did we end up on 'bat-room' humor?

Legitimate question Larry, let's leave this one where it is.

Chris, if you want to, please start a new thread with your pictures for further discussion.
