No buts. If installed to the correct torque, aluminum is comprable to copper. After installing large copper conductors for years working with aluminum is a walk in the park.

we got to use the new aluminum conductors last year we pulled in a service and used paralell 750's they bent so easy and it was a piece of cake

Two 150 amp panels is a 300 amp service. Is this what you have?
350mcm is good for 250 amps which is more than you need. For a 300 amp service you only need to use 3/0 aluminum-- 155 amps. I am confused:-?

If he is referring to the 320amp services I am use to. He would need 4/0 alum. 150amps. 60 deg column
You are thinking 2 conductors per phase, he is not.
