4-way switch markings

All the 4-ways I've seen have light and dark pairs of screws; light pair for one set of travelers, dark pair to the other. Biggest mistake I've seen is reds on lights, blacks on darks.

I think they swiped the image from another site and colored the screws, they just screwed it up.

Two wire screw em up
Three wire F_ _ _ em up
And four wire, blow em up...

I gave up on the colors and just wire the thing and see if it works. No way I am reading the instructions.
