In the 08 nec section 410.62(C)(1)(2)c permits a listed maunufactured wiring system connector as part of the fabricated assembly.

My question is: Does the listed assembly have to come from the same manufacturer of the luminaire? In other words if I use a Holophane fluorescent fixture, aircraft cable hung, but use a different manufacturers cord and canopy kit, or no canopy kit just hard wired, (no receptacle, open ceiling ) is this code compliant?

Thank you,
Paul

If the manufactures cord and canopy set are listed as a manufactured wiring system in accordance with UL 183 then you could use it as specified in the manufactures installation instructions.

We had an inspector in New Hampshire tell us that the fixture has to be listed for use with a listed cord assembly. Anybody ever run into this?
I'm talking about an 8' fluorescent fixture.
