Hello all. I work for an electrical contractor and I am doing the following job. I am installing a 480v sub-main lug panel in a building (no neutral) which will be for three 3 phase motors.Along next to that I am installing a 15kva transformer for a 120/240 single phase lighting panel and it will be used for motor control and other items. The question I have is...that is the wire size for the secondary on the transformer? I believe its #6 but need a little reassurance. Also...Do i need ground rods for the 120/240 panel? Hope enough info is given. Thanks

I think #6 is to small. Although you didn't say the load.
In my jurisdiction you would be required to have a set of prints with an engineer,s stamp. For that type of install.

also you dont need ground rods on the transformer. if there is an neutral you need to bond XO to building steel or the nearest electrode serving the service of the building. so if there is no steel you can run the GEC from the seperealy derived system to the building grounding electrode.
